Overview
Math Camp In will provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students an opportunity to experience rich mathematics in a creative setting. Math Camp In is a program where students return to school, hike to math "trail posts" (stations), complete rich mathematical tasks, record ideas in a Camp Journal, and earn their Math Camp In Badges! Math Camp In can be used as an after school event for families, or in the classroom.
Funds would be used to conduct multiple full day workshop sessions, emphasizing quality mathematics instruction, how to conduct a Math Camp In, and experience with the Trail Post stations for specific grades.
Participants who attend will leave with Camp-In-a-Box, filling their backpack full of great mathematical ideas! Each Camp-In-a-Box comes with materials to get started on a Math Camp In adventure and includes materials in numbers sufficient to conduct Math Camp In with a classroom of students.
How will the 50K be Used? |
|
| Budget Notes: A few of the Trail Post Stations use food, such as items to create S'MORES, which are not included in the kit. These are very low cost items, and because we did not know when people might conduct their Math Camp In, we did not include perishable food items. | |
| $ 50,000 | Camp In a Box kits and workshop sessions through the state |
