Overview

Kindergarten Connections:Peace and Harmony Through Technology is an opportunity for over 300 American kindergarten students to connect with children in other countries.  We will use SMARTBoard technology to create digital postcards and video clips of students singing popular children songs.  Students will learn to recognize similiarities and celebrate differences between themselves and children in other countries inspiring peace and harmony for the next generation.

Procedures:

-Install equipment and train staff

-Record our students singing a variety of popular children's songs such as
 "Twinkle,Twinkle Little Star" and "Mary Had A Little Lamb"

-Create and send students' digital postcards depicting some of their favorite pastimes such as sports and hobbies

-Share video clips and postcards with seven schools in seven different countries such as Ireland, China, and Ghana

-Use webcams to share lessons, stories, and conversations

Budget Notes: -Staff training in use of SMARTBoard Interactive Whiteboards, webcams, microphones, and video camera. -Staff training in use of software.
