Overview

Hillcrest High School is over enrolled.  We received a computer lab grant 9 years ago, allowing us to have 40 computers.  Every teacher has to compete with every other teacher for the use of the computers every single day.  As a result, our English department is only allowed to teach one research paper a year because they are not able to schedule any more time in the computer lab.  Because of this, the average grade on a research paper is currently a 54%, which is embarassing.  The only way we are going to improve our students' grades and make them successful in and out of high school is to be able to teach as many research papers as possible throughout the school year.  If we had a virtual lab that included several classrooms to have their own tablet or notebook computers, notebook cart, interactive whiteboard, student response system, projector, printer and document camera, we could actually have the ability to teach our students.

How will the 25K be Used?

Budget Notes: $17,000 60 tablet or notebook computers for 2 classrooms $2,000 two notebook carts $3,000 two interactive whiteboards $1,000 two student response systems $1,000 two projectors $1,000 two printer and document cameras
$ 25,000 Virtual Labs
