Overview
EDAR serves homeless individuals in Southern CA as well as cities across the country. We partner with homeless service agencies to assist with the distribution of units, identify individuals and families who will benefit most by units and to ensure follow up with EDAR users. A grant will allow us to expand our operations and help the increasing amount of homeless individuals and families across the US.
EDAR units are used in a multitude of settings based on the needs of the distributing agency and homeless client. EDAR has been successful with providing shelter to those that might otherwise sleep on a soggy cardboard box or in a shelter situation, providing a safe, private place for families and individuals.
We have found EDAR to be a first step to those labeled as "resistant" to enter a traditional shelter system. EDAR units create relationships with the user and the distributing partners, building trust and increasing the chance of a transition into a structured program.
