Overview
FALLEN FRUIT PRESENTS EAT LACMA will bring people together to find common ground through food, art and culture. The program will offer an exciting way for people to build deeper roots in their own communities, inspiring participants to improve and activate their neighborhoods. EAT LACMA will offer the following free activities at the museum and in the community, exploring issues like environmentalism, healthy living and sustainable agriculture, and how these themes relate to our lives: PLANT THE PERIMETER fruit tree giveaway to beautify and empower LA neighborhoods / ONLINE COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER with tools and advice about growing and preparing food / ARTIST-DESIGNED GARDENS @ LACMA exploring issues of sustainability, culture and beauty / SPECIAL EXHIBITION featuring art from across LACMA's vast collections / PUBLIC PROGRAMS like communal jam-making and Salsa Salsa (salsa-making and dancing) / ALL-DAY EVENT with art installations, workshops and activities; estimated 6,000 visitors
