Overview
Will there be enough clean water in the future? That depends on our actions today. The Nashua River Watershed Association's new River Rover will help people understand the science of water and how they can protect this vital resource. With an eye catching exterior, the van will travel to schools, festivals, and public events all over our 538 square mile watershed area. Children and adults will have the opportunity to be citizen scientists at hands-on science activity stations in and outside the van. Stations include an interactive water cycle exhibit, a water quality test lab, aquatic insect and plant investigations, exhibits on local wildlife, a 3D watershed model where visitors can locate their community, short videos on water topics, and an interactive Enviroscape demonstrating pollution causes and solutions. Professional education staff will lead activities. Well informed citizens will better protect water.
