Overview

The learning objectives of LYL are to educate students about the functions and importance of the liver, the causes of liver disease, proactive steps to maximize their liver health, reducing their risk of liver disease, including nutritional choices, physical exercise and hygiene, the need to combat childhood obesity, and detection of viral hepatitis by screening and prevention through vaccination.

There are three distinct interactive, age-appropriate LYL programs, 30-minute versions for elementary and middle school students, and a 45-minute format for high school students.  Each includes a program agenda, a slide set and script, a series of frequently asked questions, a quick reference technical assistance guide, and a minimum of six participatory activities.

How will the 50K be Used?

Budget Notes: Budget will not cover personnel costs. This program will be implemented with existing staff. Volunteers will be recruited to assist in implementation.
